I raced my first of many mountain bike races in Southern California in the Spring of 2014. I had a blast and saw how many other people enjoyed racing as well. Nerves were low and the competition was friendly. This is the environment I intend to create for “The Hammies”
To put a spin on it, each race will have extra curricular events like Long Jump competition, wheelie contests, slow bike races (first to dab their foot loses) and other fun things to gather around. We all started riding bikes for exercise and for fun so let’s keep it that way.
is from Birmingham and loves to get his hammies burning! The logo puts a fun twist to what would normally be a traditional logo of a bike wheel or gear.
This year we are expanding the FUN from previous years into a new race day format.
The Hammies has plenty to offer to the amazing running community! With ~5 Mile, ~10 mile and even a newly added Fun Run option, there is something for everyone.

The Hammies always seeks to innovate the FUN that we have on our mountain bikes. Hamduros are a time trial format on one or two stages. This is our favorite type of racing as it jam packs a short race on the funnest part of the trail - THE DOWN HILL!
Maybe your stamina isn’t up to par but you’ve got crazy bikes skills. After each race we organize events such as Wheelie Contests, Foot Down, Long Jump, and other ways to make the race day extra FUN!.
Max is the organizer of The Hammies Races. He is passionate about anything with two wheels! As a competitor and cyclist himself, he knows what riders love and expect on race day!
